Project Description
This is a 14 unit building of studio and one bedroom apartments targeted at single people. It also comprises a commercial space on the ground floor with frontage onto the Brunswick street shopping strip.
Project Partners
This project was made possible through funding of over $3 million from the Commonwealth Government under the Nation Building and Jobs Plan and over $1.5 million from the City of Yarra. Other important partners include Stoll-Long Architecture and H. Daniel Constructions.
Design Features
The building has the following environmentally sustainable and general design features: Energy saver gas heaters Cooling through cross flow ventilation, ceiling fans and air flow security doors on all units Bulk supply utilities with no need for tenants to arrange individual utilities Free common laundry facilities with high speed, water efficient, front loading machines Gas boosted solar hot water with storage and quick recovery capacity Electronic access control Secure bicycle storage Sunscreen roller blinds to all living rooms and block-out roller blinds to all bedrooms Roof terrace area with seating and BBQ facilities Courtyard on ground floor with bench seating
