Long Term Housing

Overview

YCH has a large range of rooming houses, studio apartments, 1, 2 & 3 bedroom units and 3 bedroom houses for long term accommodation. These properties are offered to low-income single people, couples & families at less than 75% of market rent, and tenants are guaranteed security of tenure.

YCH is committed to ensuring that the people we house gain access to the support, resources and opportunities they need to sustain their housing, build a sense of home and participate in the wider community.  This includes providing tenants with opportunities for participation in decision making about their housing – including design and ongoing management.  It also includes providing opportunities for skill development, creativity and recreation as well as more formal training and employment.  YCH’s role is to create effective partnerships and connections with organisations that provide these services directly.

How To Apply

Prospective tenants can gain access to YCH housing in three ways:

  • Self referral (ie. where the person seeking housing contacts YCH directly)
  • Referral by another Agency, or
  • Nomination Rights. (In some cases, other Support Agencies have nomination rights to tenancies. This means that the Nominating Agency has the right to allocate a room/unit to a particular person).

At the current time, we are only operating wait lists for rooming house accommodation. If you are a couple or a single person seeking a room, please contact one of our offices to arrange an assessment interview (please note that these wait lists are capped and are closed from time to time when our limit is reached) :
