Project Description
This is a 24 unit development of studio apartments including 4 disability modified units and 3 couples units. It is targeted at predominantly at singles.
Project Partners
This project was made possible through funding of over $2.5 million from the Office of Housing. Other important partners include North Yarra Community Health, Aids Housing Action Group, Stoll-Long Architecture, Behmer and Wright.
Design Features
The building has the following environmentally sustainable and general design features: North facing windows, angled soffits and slatted blinds for light and sun control Gas fired hydronic heating Cooling through cross flow ventilation and ceiling fans Bulk supply utilities to remove the need for tenants to arrange individual utilities Free common laundry facilities including high speed, water efficient, front loading machines Drying rooms utilizing existing heating system as well as external drying lines Underground storm water tank for garden use Drought tolerant landscaping and retention of existing significant trees
